Rodeo Participation
Being a "cowboy" or "cowgirl" is more than just a trip to a western store for some new duds and boots. Our membership encompasses people who are involved in rodeo at many different levels. Here are some examples:
|
The Spectators:
You may attend a rodeo occasionally, paying your admission at the gate, cheering on competitors, sightseeing, and being seen. No rodeo can happen without you! |
|
The Arena Crew:
No cowboy is going to be able to rope a calf or cowgirl ride a bull if there isn't someone to open the gate. And a barrel racer sure appreciates some freshly raked dirt so their horse doesn't take a spill because of a hole. You don't even have to have been to a rodeo before, all it takes is a willingness to get your boots dusty. It's a GREAT way to get close to the action, learn the ropes, and get into the rodeo for free! It's how MANY people get hooked, and a tremendous opportunity to learn about rodeo. |
|
The Competitors:
Another person you couldn't have a rodeo without. Some people just do one event for the weekend, others do many events in the hopes of winning the all around title. If they own a horse, a rodeo is probably costing them anywhere from $200 to $1000 just to be there, and hope to win some back. Most don't do it for the money, but for the love of the event, the thrill of the ride, and the chance to compare skills. These men and women would love to be sponsored in any way you can. You can earmark donations for "beginners", someone you care about, a specific event, or any other way you'd like.

The Rodeo Officials:
Well, every organization needs people to plan, make the rules, and officiate at events. These include judges, timers, secretaries, chute coordinators, rodeo directors, the list goes on and on. No rodeo could happen without them, and each one volunteers their time.

The Rodeo Sponsors:
Our sponsors play a key role in helping us host a successful rodeo and contributing to our charities. Sponsors get recognition in our newsletters, at events, on our website, and at the Rodeo. Sponsorship is a great way for businesses to partner with NSGRA.
